Setup

Claim your NDUS account

  1. Go to http://claim.ndus.edu
  2. Click Claim your Account
  3. Take the Acceptable Use Quiz
    1. Click Begin to start the quiz
    2. Complete all 12 of the questions
    3. Click Continue to claim your account
  4. Enter your Date of Birth mm/dd/yyyy
    • mm = The month you were born, use two numbers
    • dd = The day you were born, use two numbers
    • yyyy = The year you were born, use all four numbers
    • make sure you use the / between each
  5. Enter your EMPLID/Student ID
  6. Click Continue
  7. Please answer at least 3 of the authentication questions
  8. Click Continue
  9. Create and Confirm a new password
  10. Click Continue
  11. You will then be notified of your new accountid

This Account is needed for you to login to your Campus Connection.  You would use the accountid given to you in step 11, and the password you created in step 9.

Enroll your Services at NDSU

To access IT services at NDSU, your electronic ID (e-ID) must be activated. Your e-ID is usually your Firstname.Lastname

New students can activate their electronic IDs 1-2 days after they have been admitted to NDSU. This will give you computer cluster, Library, and NDSU Live e-mail access. Students will also be given a Blackboard account. Your NDSU e-mail account is an official communication channel. You should expect to receive information about courses, tuition, deadlines and other important events on campus.

To activate your electronic-ID,

  1. Visit http://enroll.nodak.edu from any computer
  2. Read the State Board of Higher Education Policy 1901.2 and NDUS Procedures 1901.2 and click Continue to agree to abide by these terms
  3. Enter your Last Name and your Student ID/Emplid in the lower part of the page
  4. On the next page, you will enter your default password. This is in an Xxx##YYYY format
    • Xxx are the first three letters of your birth month with the first letter capitalized
    • ## are the last two digits of your EMPLID/Student ID
    • YYYY are the digits of your birth year
  5. You will need to complete the Acceptable Use Policy quiz
    1. Click Begin to start the quiz
    2. Select the font size that is most easy for you to read and then click next
  6. Change your password
    • The old password is the password above
  7. Select a security question or make a question and give the answer

Accessing Office 365 for the first time

  1. Go to http://portal.microsoftonline.com
  2. Enter your full NDSU email address in the User ID field
  3. Enter the password for your account
    • Default Password = First three letters of your birth month with the first letter capitalized, last two numbers of you Employee ID number, four digit birth year (Mmmeeyyyy)
  4. Click Sign-in
  5. You will then be forced to change your password
    • Old password = default password above
    • New Password = create a new password
    • Confirm Password = enter the new password
  6. Click Save
