Re-import computer into ZENworks
This document tells you how to re-import a computer into ZENworks if the machine name has been changed.
A few notes:
- After a machine name has been changed, remote control will no longer work until the workstation is re-imported under the new name.
- This process will only work with people who have rights to make changes in ZENworks.
After renaming the computer (to follow standard ITS-supported naming convention):
- Log in as an administrator.
- Go to Start > Run and type "cmd" in the open box; Click OK.
- Enter the command "zac unr" and press Enter.
- You will be prompted for a username (shortname) and password.
- zac reg https://zen-app1.ndsu.nodak.edu<//span>" and press Enter.
- You will be prompted for a username (shortname) and password.
- Importing may take one or two minutes to complete.
- Verify the workstation has imported by right-clicking on the ZENworks tray icon and observing that the "Device State:" reports "Managed".
