ITS Software Support for North Dakota State University

ITS Help Desk Support

Provide basic level of support in assisting you in troubleshooting installation problems, error messages, setup issues and other basic technical questions. This may be done via the phone or remote control access. May also supply answers to basic 'How To' questions regarding software usage. This support is offered to all NDSU students with personal computers and faculty/staff using NDSU owned computers.  Help Desk may also discover the need to redirect your call to a different department in order to resolve your issue. Outdated or non-supported software may receive limited support.

ITS Desktop Support

Provide an advanced level of support and will directly troubleshoot installation problems, error messages, setup issues and other technical questions for you. This may be done via the phone, remote control access or an office visit. May also supply answers to basic 'How To' questions regarding software usage. This support is offered only to Faculty/Staff using NDSU owned computers who are currently supported by ITS Desktop Support.

Instructional Services

Provide comprehensive Faculty and Staff Training on a wide variety of popular software applications through Blackboard, classroom settings and departmental group settings. Also provides similar Student Training at no cost. Instructional Services also provides answers to in-depth 'How To' questions that Help Desk consultants are unable to answer within their support boundaries.

Software Licensing

The Software Licensing Program offers a limited selection of software titles at academic prices for NDSU owned machines. The program also makes available the media (CD) in order to assist with the installation.  Academic pricing for Non-NDSU owned machines is available through the Varsity Mart for Students, Faculty and Staff.

Baseline Software Supported by ITS

Below is a list of baseline software packages supported by the NDSU ITS department. The common expectation is that ITS will provide technical support for the current version of software and one version back. In the time surrounding a new release, ITS will give overlapping support for both the new version of software and the version that is scheduled to be retired from support (for a period of 6 months).
