Uninstall Novell from Windows 7

Before you begin, save all open documents and then close all programs – Uninstalling the Novell client will require you to restart your computer.

1. Open the Start menu and choose Control Panel in the right column.

2. In upper right corner of the Control Panel, choose Category from the drop down menu next to View by. Then click Uninstall a program, under the Programs category.

 

 

3. In the Uninstall or change a program window, right click on Novell Client for Windows (with a red "N" next to it) and choose Uninstall.

Do NOT select “Novell CASA Authentication” or “Novell ZENworks."  These two programs must remain on the computer.

 

 

5. If prompted for credentials, enter your firstname.lastname and the password associated with your NDSU electronic-ID (Blackboard password), and then click Yes.

6. When asked if you are sure you want to uninstall the Novell client, click Yes.  A window will appear showing files are being deleted.

7. Once this is finished, you will be prompted to restart your computer and log in again using your credentials. Please make note of the following BEFORE restarting your machine:

  • After your computer restarts, if it was joined to the Active Directory domain, you should click Other User and then enter your NDSU electronic ID (firstname.lastname) and password.
  • If your machine was NOT joined to the Active Directory domain, you will be prompted to simply enter your password.

When you are ready to restart (i.e., all open documents are saved, programs are closed, and you are prepared to log in after restarting), click Yes

Uninstall Novell from Windows XP

Before you begin, save all open documents and then close all programs – Uninstalling the Novell client will require you to restart your computer.

1. Open the Start menu and choose Control Panel in the right column.

2. Double click on Add or Remove Programs.

 

3. In the Add/Remove Programs window, click on Novell Client for Windows and then click on the Change/Remove button.

Do NOT select “Novell CASA Authentication” or “Novell ZENworks."  These two programs must remain on the computer.

 

4. When asked if you are sure you want to uninstall the Novell Client for Windows, click Yes.

5. You will be prompted to restart your computer.  After restarting, you can log back in with your NDSU electronic-ID (firstname.lastname) and password.

When you are ready to restart (i.e., all open documents are saved, programs are closed), click Yes.
