Dive In Faculty Technology Workshop

Blackboard Below the Surface!

When it comes to Blackboard, there are wonderful treasures that lurk below the surface. This session investigates the "deep end of the pool" with these topics:

  • First we'll take a look at using Blackboard's social tools to enhance learning while investigating the concept of Universal Design. The goal of Universal Design is to give all individuals equal opportunities to learn. We'll investigate the principles and best practices of Universal Design while experiencing the Blackboard Wiki tool.

  • Next we'll cover the "Top 10 List" ways to make your Blackboard course accessible for users with different physical capabilities as well as mobile devices

  • In the final lap of the morning we'll look at ways to organize course content, avoiding Grade Center disasters, and incorporating graphics in your courses
