Respondus LockDown Browser
Effective 10/16/2012:
The Respondus LockDown Browser building block was updated on the Blackboard servers. This update resolves some recent issues with Respondus LDB. There are no major changes, but there will be some minor changes to the way instructors enable/disable Respondus LDB for quizzes and tests. This update also eliminates a password confusion problem for students attempting a test in LockDown Browser.
What is Respondus LockDown Browser?
Respondus LockDown Browser is a secure browser for taking tests in Blackboard. It prevents students from printing, copying, going to another URL, or accessing other applications during a test. If a Blackboard test requires that
Respondus LockDown Browser be used, you will not be able to take the test with a standard web browser.
Respondus LockDown Browser should only be used for taking Blackboard tests. It should not be used in other areas of Blackboard.
