IT Division adopts new support tracking system
Published: 15 March 2012 02:53 PM

The Information Technology Division is migrating to a new IT support tracking system called Service-Now, which will replace the current Remedy system.

The Information Technology Division is migrating to a new IT support tracking system called Service-Now, which is provided by the N.D. University System. Remedy, the current tracking system, is scheduled to be retired later this spring.

Currently, when a help request is submitted to the IT Help Desk, individuals receive an email notification and updates throughout the life cycle of the ticket. After the division migrates to Service-Now, individuals who submit requests will continue to receive notifications and updates and will have the ability to respond directly to the messages to update the request.

Service-Now will also provide NDSU students, faculty and staff the ability to log into Service-Now with their NDSU email address and ConnectND (Campus Connection or Employee Self-Service) password to view and update existing tickets, or to submit new tickets.

As of March 12, individuals will receive notifications from Service-Now for all new information technology support requests.

For more information about Service-Now, contact the IT Help Desk at 231-8685 or ndsu.helpdesk@ndsu.edu
