IT security workshop on mitigating the risks of social media to be held 4 p.m. Thursday, March 22, in IACC 422

NDSU students, faculty and staff are invited to attend a free workshop, "Securing Your Social: Mitigating the Risks of Social Media," at 4 p.m. on Thursday, March 22, in IACC 422.

NDSU IT security support specialist Jeff Gimbel will explore issues of privacy and ethics regarding storing, managing, and sharing data through social media. Jeff will explain how an individual's level of risk online is directly related to how much the user or the user's friends engage in online social media activity and the amount of the information they are capable of sharing.

Come to this workshop to increase your knowledge of how to protect yourself online and effectively participate in the social media sphere.

This workshop is part of the broad range of free technology education workshops held by the IT Division's Technology Learning & Media Center for NDSU students, faculty and staff.
