Windows 7 adopted for clusters, desktop during 2010; Help Desk support currently available

ITS has announced that it will begin supporting Windows 7 on university-owned computers next year. Here is a short overview of the support timeline.

CLUSTERS AND CLASSROOMS: Windows 7 will be installed on cluster/classroom computers starting in the fall of 2010. Instructors who need class-specific software in clusters/classrooms should begin research to determine whether these programs will be Windows 7 compatible. See the Cluster Software Request Page for more information.

DESKTOP SUPPORT: Windows 7 will become a standard OS on ITS-supported computers some time after Jan. 1, 2010. The specific date will be announced once research and compatibility testing are complete.

HELP DESK: The ITS Help Desk currently provides assistance with connectivity, e-mail, calendaring and other general support issues on Windows 7.

See the NDSU Windows 7 Support Page for periodic updates and frequently asked questions.
