Managing Information on Your Computer (Electronic File Management)

Learn to use the Windows operating system to manage your files effectively and efficiently.

This session will cover:

  • Using Windows Explorer and/or My Computer to manage your folders and files
  • Finding files quickly
  • Viewing, opening, copying, moving, deleting and renaming files
  • Creating new folders and organizing your files into them
  • Using the Recycle Bin
  • Customizing the Start Menu
  • Creating Desktop Shortcuts

Prerequisites: Working knowledge of basic Windows skills (i.e. using the mouse, opening, closing, and resizing Windows, navigating the Start Menu, etc.)
