Northern Crops Institute will sponsor a daylong seminar,
"Protocol: Your Vital Tool in International Business," on Monday,
Feb. 9, at the Fargo Holiday Inn.
The seminar is designed for business people who communicate,
negotiate and socialize in the global marketplace. Topics include
many areas of international protocol, such as how to present a
business card, make introductions, present gifts and appreciate
cultural differences. Electronic communications and practical
travel tips also will be discussed. During a four-course noon
luncheon, participants will practice appropriate table etiquette
for a formal meal. A panel of regional international business
leaders also will share their experiences about doing business in
different regions of the world.
Pat Berglund, the institute's former director and a corporate
etiquette and international protocol consultant, will lead the
seminar. Certified by The Protocol School of Washington, Berglund
has international experience in Asia, Central America, South
America, Africa and Europe.
The deadline for registration is Feb. 2. The $100 tuition
includes an illustrated workbook and the luncheon. Cancellations
received after the deadline will be assessed a 10 percent service
fee. For information and a registration form, visit
