Technology is 'supposed' to enhance learning and make teaching easier; however, it can often feel like you spend more time dealing with the technology than you do teaching your class! Instructional Services can help! In this LunchBytes session we'll take a look at three different tools you can use to save time and make some of those tasks more manageable:
Blackboard Rubrics Make grading fair and consistent with interactive rubrics. You can create and reuse customized rubrics for assignments, tests, discussion board and wiki, blog, and journal posts in Blackboard, use these rubrics to assign and calculate grades for you, and optionally, make the rubric visible to students either before or after grading. This tool is very flexible and can be a huge time saver for anyone involved in the grading process. Creating a Rubric (video) Import OMR Scores Instructors who use the OMR Test Scoring service at NDSU will really appreciate the tools we've developed to make it simple to import the OMR scanned scores directly into the Blackboard Grade Center without manually entering each score! For large courses, this process can save a lot of time! Even if you've never used OMR scored test sheets before, you may be interested in learning more about this process. Respondus Quiz/Test Generation Respondus is an amazing tool! If you've ever felt that creating and/or editing test questions in Blackboard is tedious and time-consuming, you'll want to check this one out! You can create your quiz or test questions in your favorite word processor then use Respondus to quickly publish (upload) them to your Blackboard course. Respondus can also generate formatted print versions of Blackboard tests (with and without an answer key!), download student attempt data, and generate multiple reports. |
