Researchers in the NDSU School of Natural Resource Sciences spent a summer evening in Richland County, North Dakota, using mercury vapor light to trap moths. Kirk Anderson, left, Gerald Fauske, center, and Marion Harris, right, worked to find pollinators of the endangered Western Prairie Fringed Orchid. These pollinators are moths of the family Sphingidae - commonly known as Hawk moths or Sphinx moths. Members of this group that are active during the day are often called Hummingbird moths.
