is SAE? |
The
Society of Automotive Engineers, or SAE, is a worldwide organization
of engineers, educators, and college students dedicated to the
advancement of mobility systems, especially the automobile.

Formula |
| In
this competition, students build an open-wheel racecar
from the ground-up. The result is a miniature Indy Car
capable of incredible performance. In addition to performance,
the entries are also judged on engineering design and
cost analysis. |

Baja |
| The
Mini-Baja competition requires teams to build an off-road
vehicle around a donated 10 horsepower Briggs and Stratton
engine. The competition emphasizes durability and adaptability,
as well as safety and cost effectiveness. At the competition,
the vehicles are subjected to grueling events, retiring
all but the most durable, well-designed machines. |

Snowmobile Challenge |
| Clean
Snowmobile Challenge is an intercollegiate engineering
design competition that challenges engineering students
to reengineer an existing snowmobile for improved emissions
and noise while maintaining or improving the performance
characteristics of the original snowmobile. The modified
snowmobiles are also expected to be cost-effective. |
