Clean Snowmobile Challenge
Clean Snowmobile Challenge (CSC) is also a collegiate design competition organized by the Society of Automotive Engineers. Student members are challenged to reengineer an existing snowmobile to reduce emissions and noise. Their modified snowmobiles will compete in a variety of events including emissions, noise, fuel economy/endurance, acceleration, handling, static display, cold start and design
NDSU is nationally recognized for the utilization of a turbocharged three cylinder diesel engine in its clean snowmobiles. This concept started in 2011 and NDSU continues to improve on this package.
