Great Northwoods Sales Warm-up Competition
Three students from North Dakota State University's College of Business participated in the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Great Northwoods Sales Warm-Up. The Great Northwoods Sales Warm-Up is a regional sales competition for collegiate marketing students. Sixteen universities participated in the 2011 competition. Students prepare and test their sales skills in two 20 minute role play scenarios. In each scenario, they sell a product or service to a buyer. Competitors receive one-on-one feedback from their judges after their sales presentations. The NDSU students competing were April Ausk-Nesemeier, Jesse Maier and Ryan Veldman. Mike Krush, assistant professor, marketing, served as faculty coach. When students aren't competing, they connect with corporate sponsors and recruiters at the career fair, and attend a series of professional development workshops. In this year's competition, Jesse Maier received the award for the highest score among the NDSU competitors. This is the second year that NDSU has participated.
