Memorial Union Rubric
The Memorial Union has developed a rubric for all of our Student Employees. This rubric has 3 main areas and 17 specific dimensions. The 3 main areas are Interpersonal Communication, Problem Solving and Critical Thinking, and Professional Development.
Student Employee Outcomes by Area
Administration Office - Student employees will learn the qualities of Customer Service which is the cornerstone to the success of a business.
Building Managers, Operations - Building Managers will focus on conflict resolution, room set-ups, and customer follow up.
Campus Attractions - Students will be recognized as leaders at NDSU by providing innovative practices and programs that support campus engagement.
Graphic Services - Student employees in Graphic Services will be adept in four areas of project managemnt after one year, and will be able to transfer their skills to future employment situations.
Greek Life - Students will understand personal responsibility and demonstrate respectful behavior in a community learning environment.
Rec & Outing Center - Student Employees will learn interpersonal skills such as; conflict resolution, the ability to engage with customers, responsibility, and ambition.
Accounting - Reconcile all daily cash bags and maintain related spreadsheets daily accurately and timely.
Student Activities Office - Student employed in the Activities Office for at least one semester will be able to articulate how their sense of responsibility, communication, customer service and critical thinking skills have developed and how that aids in career development.
Service Center - Student Employees will focus on the peer leadership aspects; promote and encourage a healthy and supportive work environment, work with peers to establish a shared purpose and vision in the work environment, takes risks when faced with workplace challenges, and assist/teach co-workers to learn all Service Center tasks.
Volunteer Network - As a result of working in the Volunteer Network, students will serve as a dependable coordinator that communicates and participates effectively in order to implement excellent programs all while balancing a healthy workload.
