Fill the Dome is an event that was created three years ago by area high school students. The object is to cover the floor of the Fargo Dome with food that will be donated to the Great Plains Food Bank.
The first ever Fill the Dome raised 80,498 pounds of food for the Great Plains Food Bank. It was even featured on Good Morning America. In 2008, 142,535 pounds of food and $58,000 was raised. NOW it is time for NDSU to make a difference and contribute to the great success of Fill the Dome.
Fill the Dome is an event that was created three years ago by area high school students. The object is to cover the floor of the Fargo Dome with food that will be donated to the Great Plains Food Bank. Goal: For NDSU to Collect 15, 000 non-perishable food items! We are also calling for 500 volunteers from NDSU to help out at the Fargo Dome on November 23rd all day!
THIS IS WHAT WE ARE DOING TO ACHIEVE OUR GOAL:
This week every staff and faculty member will receive a grocery bag in their mail box. We are asking that you please take the bag home and bring it back with any nonperishable food items that you are able to donate. Please bring the bags with the items to the Memorial Union, Student Activities Office or in one of the drop off boxes around campus.
1 in 12 families will use the services provided by the Great Plains Food Bank this year.
