Chapter Policies and Procedures
Listed below are policies and procedures to assist and advance the NDSU Fraternity and Sorority Life community.
The purpose of this Fraternity and Sorority Life Initiatives and Action Plan is to address in concise format those changes in relationship and responsibility, which pertain to the functioning of the Fraternity and Sorority community at North Dakota State University, as well as offering initiatives progress updates to the NDSU administration and Fraternity and Sorority community.
As addressed in Article 5.6 of the Rights and Responsibilities of Community: A Code of Student Behavior, hazing is a broad term encompassing any action or activity that inflicts or intends to cause physical or mental harm or anxieties; that may demean, degrade, or disgrace any person, regardless of location, intent or consent of participants. Hazing is both against university policy as well as state law.
As outlined in Initiative 6 of the Fraternity and Sorority Life Initiatives and Action Plan and Article 4 of the Rights and Responsibilities of Community: A Code of Student Behavior, NDSU Fraternity and Sorority organizations must comply with all University, local, state and federal laws and policies concerning alcohol consumption.
The NDSU Code of Student Behavior identifies several values that are important to an educationally purposeful environment. These values are respect for the NDSU community and respect for the protection and rights of others.
