Alcohol Policy
As outlined in Initiative 6 of the Greek Life Initiatives and Action Plan and Article 4 of the Rights and Responsibilities of Community: A Code of Student Behavior, NDSU Greek letter organizations must comply with all University, local, state and federal laws and policies concerning alcohol consumption. No alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs are permitted in common areas of chapter property at any time. Members who are 21 years of age may consume alcohol in the privacy of their rooms with no more than three guests who are also of legal age, provided that all of the occupants of the room are 21 years of age or older. In addition, it is the University’s expectation that student leaders and organizations be responsible event planners and considers all the rules, policies and issues before putting any events into action. Within Policy 4.2.2 of the NDSU Rights and Responsibilities of Community: A Code of Student Behavior, registered NDSU student organizations/Greek chapters planning off-campus closed events where alcohol will be present must complete and file with the Student Activities Office, Memorial Union 360, an NDSU Event Risk Management Planning Notification Form. In addition, registered NDSU student organizations/Greek chapters planning off-campus events open to the general University/public community, where alcohol will not be present, must submit this same form. |
