Volunteer Network is in direct and frequent contact with thirty service agencies within the community. However, we direct student, faculty, and staff to any of the over 100 service agencies within the Fargo-Moorhead community, based on interest and agency needs. A working relationship with FirstLINK, the community-based service center, allows us to connect individuals, groups, and classes with the appropriate opportunities within the community.
When looking for a service site, students, student groups, and faculty are encouraged to first consider what issue area is most appropriate to meet their needs and interests. Most of the service agencies in the Fargo-Moorhead area fit into one of these categories:

Service Hours & Evaluation
Volunteer Network staff strives to provide quality community
service experiences for all NDSU students, whether that service
is a requirement for an academic course, a student organization
or residence hall program, or a volunteer experience completed by
individual students. To ensure that we are meeting student
expectations as well as the needs of community service agencies,
we need your help.
Please take a few moments each month, or after completing a one-time service project, to download the Service Report Form & Evaluation, complete it and drop it by our office.
This Report Form & Evaluation gathers information
about:
1. Service hours completed by NDSU students (including
service completed as part of a course, student organization,
residence hall, one-time activity, and individual volunteers) -
by reporting your service hours, we can accurately determine the
impact that NDSU students have on local and regional community
service agencies and can predict future volunteer efforts.
2. Community service agencies - to determine
which agencies are providing quality service experiences for our
students and which agencies have the greatest need for
volunteers.
3. Volunteer Network - to evaluate our
effectiveness in meeting your expectations and requests.
