Bison Service Challenge
The Bison Service Challenge promotes civic engagement through service. The Bison Service challenge was established in the fall of 2009 at North Dakota State University. The Bison Service Challenge focused on Student Involvement during the first year and recorded over 30,000 hours of service completed by student groups. This year the Bison Service Challenge not only supports student involvement, but also Service-Learning in the classroom, and service done by individual students, faculty and staff. The Bison Service Challenge will always promote learning through service.Click here to learn more.
Martin Luther King Jr. Service Plunge
The Martin Luther King Jr. Day Service Plunge is an annual Volunteer Network event where students turn a day off of school into a "day ON" of service. This event is an opportunity for all NDSU students to go out into the community to a non-profit organization to give back.
In 2013, the Volunteer Network sent 423 students to 20 non-profits in Fargo and Moorhead.
The Big Event
The Big Event takes place every Spring as an opportunity for NDSU to give back to our community, also known as "One BIG day, one BIG thanks". Faculty, Staff, Students and Alumni serve at many non-profits and neighborhoods around Fargo and Moorhead throughout the day, assisting in a wide variety of tasks.
In 2012, NDSU sent over 700 students to over 80 non-profits and private homes to volunteer.
This year's BIG EVENT will take place on Tuesday, April 23rd as part of Spring Blast week.
