Native American Heritage Month
November 1-30: American Indian War Bonnet Display
The war bonnet was presented as an honor to fallen U.S. Army National Guard Cpl. Nathan Goodiron, 25, of Mandaree, ND, a member of the Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara Nation. This headdress is on loan from NDSU student, Sam Floberg, a decorated veteran of the War on Terror. Floberg was honored with the gift of the war bonnet upon returning to North Dakota by both the Goodiron family and the North Dakota National Guard 1st Battalion, 188th air Defense Artillery.
November 1-30: NASA Raffle Ticket Sale
Native American Student Association raffle ticket sale on a star quilt. See the star quilt on display in Cage #2 in the Memorial Union until November 15. Call Nicole Stolz at 303-358-0961 or email her at nicole.stolz@ndsu.edu. Or stop by the Office of Multicultural Programs in the Memorial Union, room 178.
November 13: Native American Panel
1:30 - 2:30 pm, Meadow Lark Room, NDSU Memorial Union
Topic: Fargo-Moorhead Native American Organizations directors will share information on their organizations and ways you can be involved to meet Native Americans in the local community. Panel invitees are representatives from the following organizations: Daughters of the Earth, Sacred Spirits, City of Fargo Native American Commission, Native American Veterans Group, Seet Medicine and the Wesley Center, New Native American Center, and Fargo Indian Education.
November 13-14: Turtle Mountain Service Trip
A group of NDSU students, staff and faculty will travel to Belcourt, ND to learn about the Turtle Mountain Chippewa Reservation and will provide cleaning, winterization and light repairs on elders' homes in the area. Organized by the Turtle Mountain Housing Authority, NDSU Memorial Union's Service Learning Program and NDSU Office of Multicultural Programs.

BSA and ASU Finesse Variety Night Show
University Lutheran Center, 7-9 pm
The Black Students Association and the African Student Union student organizations will host the Finesse Variety Show Night. Mr. and Ms. Pan African will be chosen and, in between the competition events, students and staff will be performing variety show talents. A $5 suggested donation will be collected at the door. The donations will be used to offset the cost of the event as well as support BSA and ASU's future events. Click HERE to see the flyer for the event.

The Association of Latino Professionals in Finance & Accounting (ALPFA) is partnering with the Hispanic College Fund (HSF) to award a number of scholarships for the 2010-2011 academic year. Scholarships range from $1,250 to $10,000. Click HERE to view and download the document with details on the program.

Eligibility requirements:
· Be of Hispanic heritage
· Be a U.S. Citizen or legal permanent resident of the U.S.
· Have a minimum GPA of 3.0
· Have plans to enroll as a full-time student in the Fall of 2010
· Students must be entering sophomore, junior or senior year of undergraduate student or a Master's program
