NORTH DAKOTA STATE UNIVERSITY - FARGO, N D

INTERFACE TO
NORTH DAKOTA
TOPOGRAPHIC MAPS

INTRODUCTION:

This map interface was created by Ray Sterner of the Applied Physics Laboratory at Johns Hopkins University. It permits users to access topographic maps for any portion of North Dakota.

Netscape NOTE: The interface seems to work only with higher versions of Netscape (we're using Version 4.7). It does not work at all with Internet Explorer.

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. After you start, a relief map of North Dakota will appear. Using your cursor, select a point in the state whose topographic map you would like to view.

  2. Click on this point.

  3. A second web page, hosted by TopoZone.com, will launch showing your map. The speed at which the map appears is dependent both on your bandwidth as well as the traffic load on the TopoZone server.

  4. The map can be adjusted in scale using the bars at the top of the map. (Not all scales are yet available).

  5. Ready to start? Click here !

  6. An alternative interface, using an AVHRR satellite image of North Dakota, is available here.
