Course Objectives:
At
the end of this course students will know the following:
- terminology
and literature of cytogenetics
- chromosome
behavior as the mechanism for observed genetic segregation
and breeding behavior
- physical,
chemical, and biological techniques used to examine the
structure and function of chromosomes
- cytogenetic
techniques that can be employed in plant genetics and
improvement.
