F₂ Data in Coupling Phase Linkage

Six of sixteen possible genotypes provide information regarding recombination frequency for F₂ families with complete dominance gene action and coupling phase linkage. This can be shown with the following diagram. The parental gametes are GH and gh and the recombinant gametes are Gh and gH.

The informative genotypes are in bold. The non-informative gentotypes cannot be used to determine whether the genotype is due to a crossover event passed on by the male or female parent's gametes.
