Conditional Probability

Flower & Pubescence Color

Flower color and pubescence color are independent.

The probability that the P allele goes to the top pole of the cell during Anaphase I of meiosis is independent of whether the chromosome that carries the T allele goes to the same pole. The event that a gamete contains the P allele is independent of the event that the same gamete will contain the T allele when these loci are located on non-homologous chromosomes.
