Because NCA is changing the "Criteria for Accreditation" and eliminating
the old General Institutional Requirements, institutions in the
2003 - 2004 cycle are preparing their Self-Study under the old guidelines.
Institutions in the 2004 - 2005 cycle may use either the old or
new guidelines, and those institutions in the 2005 - 2006 cycle
(including NDSU) will follow the new guidelines.
For more information about the NCA's guidelines, see http://www.ncacihe.org/
The
site-visit for Concordia College is scheduled for
November, 2003 and their reaccreditation information is available
for public access. The URL for their information is: http://www.cord.edu/dept/registrar/catalog97/ataglance.html
The University of Colorado's site-visit was in
April, 2000. They were writing to the old Criteria and their
reaccreditation Web-page has a different look. The link to
their site is:http://www.colorado.edu/Chancellor/SelfStudy/index.html
The University of Oklahoma was one of the relatively
few institutions reaccredited during the 2001 - 2002 cycle that
were not required to have a focused visit or write a focused report.
They may have been among the first to make a Virtual Resource Room
available. The link to their information is:
http://www.ou.edu/ncaselfstudy/
The University of Wyoming is another institution
that addressed the old Criteria. Only their Self-Study document
is readily available and the HTML version has active links to additional
material. The link for their Self-Study document is:
http://uwadmnweb.uwyo.edu/NCA/Selfstudy/self.htm
The University of Arizona's site-visit was
in February, 2000 and their approach may be of interest. Please
note that their Self-Study document is rather large. http://www.library.arizona.edu/nca/overview2.htm
The links and short descriptions shown here are only a few of
the many examples that are available. To conduct a search,
use the following keywords:
NCA + "Self-Study" often provide
numerous "hits". Happy hunting!!!
