Departmental Merger
The Department of Botany/Biology is merging with the Department of Zoology to create the Department of Biological Sciences. This merger is not yet official, but the two departments have merged their administrative functions. Department offices are now located in Stevens 218 and Dr. William Bleier is serving as Chair of the department.
Welcome Dr. Hutchison
The Botany/Biology program welcomes our newest faculty member, Dr. Ron Hutchison. Dr. Hutchison is pursuing research on the functional organization of photosystem II and the molecular biology of photosynthesis using the model organism, Chlamydomonas reinhardtii. Ron received his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois and has completed postdoctoral work at Ohio State University and the University of Minnesota.
