November 2001 meeting minutes

Hi Everyone...

Just wanted to say Thanks to all who showed up at the
meeting last night.  We had a great turnout and had
a lot of new faces.  Hopefully they and others will
continue to show up as the year goes on.

Last night we had Nancy Jordheim the Assistant
Superintendant of Human Resources for Fargo Public
Schools come in and talk to us about the Art of
Interviewing.  Mrs. Jordheim had a lot of good ideas
about what you should do if you are the interviewer or
the interviewee.

As an interviewer, she stressed the importance of
knowing the laws and knowing what questions you can
and can't ask.  She explained that if and when you go
to court you need to have back up resources so you
dont get yourself in trouble.  She also told us when
we are interviewing or conducting the interview, we
should ask ourselves "What are my chances for success
here?"  This question is important from both sides of
the interview.

Mrs. Jordheim mentioned the fact that no one during the
interview process should drop their eyes.  This shows
confidence to both parties.  She mentioned the
importance of appearance as a whole not necessarily
just the apparel that you are wearing.  Its the whole
image she looks at.  Mrs. Jordheim told us as an
interviewee it would be a good idea to have some
questions ready to ask the interviewer.  You should
also go into the interview knowing a little bit about
the company.

All in all, last nights meeting was a success and we
had a great speaker.  She shared with us a lot of
personal stories that helped us to see the points she
was getting at and to prepare us for our interviews.

In December, we are thinking about having a little
Christmas get together at an actual company in Fargo.
Be looking for announcements on that.

Have a great week!!!!!!!!
