Hi guys....
First of all, Thank you to all of you that showed up
at the meeting last night. There was some new
faces(and old), which is always good.
We talked about alot of things last night so here is a
little breakdown of everything.
1. Service Opportunities- We are going to be
participating in the Yunker Farm "Not so scary Haunted
House" decorating on Tuesday Oct. 16 at 7.
Also, some people signed up to work at the Little
Country theater. Ask Taska if you forgot, or have
questions.
2. Dr. Steven's Words...
First, he talked about two scholarships...an Undergrad
one and a Student Leadership Award. If you are
interested you should contact him at
Charles_Stevens@ndsu.nodak.edu.
He also mentioned to check out the SHRM website
because there are surveys on there about the Sept. 11
attacks and how it is affecting business.
3. The new Concordia Advisor is Dr. Linda Keup.
4. For our main topic, which was Training we had Lynn
Devitt. She is a Corportate Trainer at Noridian/Blue
Cross Blue Shield. We first started with a bingo
icebreaker, then we talked about what types of
programs that new hires have to go through, and also
other training programs Blue Cross overs. At the end,
we did another exercise with puzzles that made us get
up and interact with the group. Lynn stressed to us
that in training you should not teach your employees
you should get them to participate.
5. The new SHRM email address is
tricollegeshra@yahoo.com, if you email to this address
it limits the amount of sending, replying, and
forwarding we do and hopefully it will make us all
more efficient.
Alright guys...this is it. If you have any questions
feel free to email us.
