I believe that the documents Paul Juell was referring to in yesterday's meeting are referred to in the "2000-01 Annual Report of CPG Activities" to the University Senate. I have listed those that were posted to the Web below:

Subcommittee Reports, 2001:

CPG Cluster and Classroom Technology Subcommittee

Computer Planning & Goals Distance Access Subcommittee

Subcommittee on Internet User Needs

CPG Networking Sub-Committee

Another of the documents refereed to in yesterday's discussion regarding planning is a document that a few CITPG members plus a few faculty who were interested but not CITPG members worked on with the Technology Enhanced Learning Committee of the University Senate (TEL) at the request of the Information Technology Roundtable. The TEL did the first draft under Nancy Olson's leadership, and fine-tuning was done by the select group of CITPG and several interested faculty mebers.

NDSU Vision

The last document is visionary while the subcommittee reports are tactical. More abstracts of tactical work are described below.
Chronologically, with the most recent first, here are the "planning" activities CITPG has done and transmitted to Senate:

2003-04 Annual Report of Activities :

Provided feedback on the CIO’s IT Governance Reorganization Plan

2002-03 Annual Report of Activities:

CITPG formed a Desktop Standards Task Force to develop a desktop standard for campus computers. The task force has met frequently and held two open forums in March to solicit input from the campus community. The task force has developed a preliminary set of standards and is now working on a plan to pilot the standards with new faculty in the fall of 2003. The task force is also conducting a survey of campus computers; the survey should be completed by the end of the summer.

CITPG worked with the Videoconferencing at NDSU committee to develop a plan to implement videoconferencing on campus.

CITPG has worked with ITS and other campus groups to develop the IT Plan to be submitted as part of the University’s budget.

2001-02 Annual Report of CITPG Activities

CITPG was involved in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) decision process. At the request of Grant Crawford, the NDUS CIO, CITPG surveyed faculty and staff from the entire NDUS system

CITPG consulted with ITS regarding the development of a campus IT security plan. The development of this plan is ongoing.

CITPG has worked with ITS and other campus groups to develop the IT Plan to be submitted as part of the University’s budget.

2000-01 Annual Report of CPG Activities

ITS developed and CPG agreed with a plan that upgraded the campus modem pool by Spring 2001.

Long-term plans for the Networking, Cluster and Classroom Technology, and Distance Access subcommittees were updated, and the Internet Users Needs subcommittee developed its first plan. These are the specialty committees of CPG that make detailed recommendations to inform CPG, ITS and other campus information technology decision makers about appropriate directions that campus needs to take with regards to information technology that supports the academic mission of the campus. Those detailed reports are attached. Because the plans themselves are general, they do not lend themselves to abstracting. You are urged to read each for specific details.
