Information for Advisors of Ph.D. Candidates
Special Assistance and/or Reasonable Accommodations
- Any staff or faculty member participating in the commencement ceremony needing special assistance and/or reasonable accommodations (wheelchair, physical disability, etc.) should contact Rhonda Kitch at (701) 231-7987 or rhonda.k.kitch@ndsu.edu at least 2 weeks prior to the ceremony to make arrangements
- Sign language interpreters are on-stage and interpret throughout the ceremony
- Hearing assisted devices may be checked out at the Guest Services desk on the concourse of the FargoDome
Academic Apparel Information
- Faculty and staff who wish to participate in the academic procession, will wear caps and gowns. If you need a cap and/or gown, contact Karen Hovland, NDSU Bookstore, (701) 231-8261 or karen.hovland@ndsu.edu
- It is recommended that tassels are worn on the left side of the cap
Arrival and Assembly for Ceremony
- Arrive at the FargoDome by 4:15 p.m. (Procession begins promptly at 5:00 p.m.)
- Faculty and staff are welcome in the candidate assembly area to congratulate the candidates.
Access the lower level using the staffed southeast green exit door (or main entrance to elevator if you need physical accommodations)
- A secure coat check will be set up in the south end of the assembly area
- You will be directed to the Faculty Assembly area
