Program content is based on Standards and Guidelines for Gerontology Programs published by the Association for Gerontology in Higher Education (AGHE). The Gerontology option is a collaborative, inter-institutional program offered by web-based distance education. The Gerontology option requires 30 to 33 credits of coursework and a thesis or masters paper for a total of 36 credits. The program can be completed in two to three years. Gerontology Certificate Program an emerging area in which graduate training has not been readily available. The Gerontology Graduate Certificate is especially valuable to professionals who need more advanced coursework in this area but do not need a Masters Degree, or those who already have a Masters degree but would like more specific training in Gerontology.
