Deadlines are February 1, May 1, and September 1. The Bush Foundation: Financial contributions given in the areas of education and improving higher-order thinking skills. Multiple deadlines throughout the year, including April 1, July 15, October 1, and November 1. Cargill Foundation: Grants given to communities in which Cargill has a business presence in the following areas: ensuring a safe, nutritious, accessible global food supply; innovation in education; and environmental stewardship. Otto Bremer Foundation: Grants restricted to private nonprofit or public tax exempt organizations working promote human rights. Applications accepted any time of the year (no deadlines). Philanthrofund Foundation (PFund): Interest in the areas of GLBT-related causes and organizations. Deadline for grant applications is September 15. Surdna Foundation: Grants given to nonprofit organizations in the following areas: environment; community revitalization; effective citizenry; the arts; and the nonprofit sector. There are no formal deadlines; however, grants are approved in February, May, and September of each year. U.S. Bancorp Foundation: Grants given to tax exempt organizations seeking to build strong partnerships and lasting value in communities.
