| BUSINESS AND PROFESSIONAL WOMEN'S FOUNDATION Career advancement scholarships are awarded to women, 25 years of age or older; U.S. citizen or US national; officially accepted into an accredited program or course of study at a U.S. institution; graduating within 12 to 24 months from the date of award; demonstrate need for financial assistance; demonstrate clear career plans. Applications are available from January 1 to April 1. For an application, log onto the BPW/USA website at www.bpwusa.org. Applications must be received by BPW on or before April 15. |
| GRACE DELONG SCHOLARSHIP One scholarship of $200 will be awarded to a Family and Community Education member interested in improving employability through additional education or training. | GRAND FORKS COUNTY FAMILY AND COMMUNITY EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP One scholarship of $100 will be awarded to a student who will be a junior or senior majoring in Apparel, Design and Hospitality Management; Child Development and Family Science; Dietetics; or Family and Consumer Sciences Education. The applicant must be a resident of Grand Forks County. Priority will be given to a former 4-H club member or FHA member and/or a child of a present member of a Family and Community Education Club. | MARY E. LAYCOCK MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP/BEULAH KIBBEL MEMORIAL AWARD One scholarship of $285 will be awarded by the North Dakota Association for Family and Community Education (NDFCE) to a junior for use during the senior year. The student must be enrolled in an area of Apparel, Design and Hospitality Management; Child Development and Family Science; Dietetics; or Family and Consumer Sciences Education at NDSU. The Beulah Kibbel Memorial Award has contributed $35 to the $285 scholarship. Use the Laycock/Kibbel Memorial Scholarship application form. | MARSHALL COUNTY HOMEMAKERS SCHOLARSHIP One scholarship of $200 will be awarded to a sophomore or junior majoring in an area of Apparel, Design and Hospitality Management; Child Development and Family Science; Dietetics; or Family and Consumer Sciences Education. The student must be a Marshall County, Minnesota, resident. Prior winners of the Marshall County Scholarship are not eligible to reapply. | NORTH DAKOTA 4-H FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS Scholarships will be awarded to students who are 4-H members or former 4-H members. Information and application forms are available in FLC 219 or on the web site: http://www.ext.nodak.edu/4-h/members/memScholar.htm. |
| NORTH DAKOTA CONFERENCE OF SOCIAL WELFARE, INC. Each year the NDCSW selects up to one (1) graduate and ten (10) undergraduate students for up to a $500 scholarship. The scholarships are awarded at the annual conference, which is held in September each year. The scholarship selection is based on the student's interest in: 1) social welfare reform; 2) advocating for the underprivileged; and 3) being a leader in social welfare issues. The student must write an esay of 1000 words or less about their interest in the three areas listed above; why you would like to be a member of the NDCSW; what benefits there are to membership in the NDCSW; what committee you would like to serve on; and, how you would like to or intend to become involved as a member of the NDCSW. Students may access the NDCSW website at www.ndscw.org for information on the organizaton and its committees. CLOUD AREA HOME ECONOMICS ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP One scholarship of $500 will be awarded to a junior or senior or graduate student majoring in an area of Apparel or Design; Child Development and Family Sciences; Dietetics; or Family and Consumer Sciences Education or other related degree program. | STEELE COUNTY HOME ECONOMICS ASSOCIATION One scholarship of $300 will be awarded to any individual majoring in an area of Apparel, Design and Hospitality Management; Child Development and Family Science; Dietetics; or Family and Consumer Sciences Education. Student must have completed at least two years of study in their major and be a resident of Steele County, Minnesota, including the towns of Owatonna (55060), Blooming Prairie (55917), Ellendale (56026), and Medford (55049). | STUTSMAN COUNTY HOMEMAKERS COUNCIL SCHOLARSHIP One scholarship of $150 will be awarded to a junior or senior majoring in an area of Apparel, Design and Hospitality Management; Child Development and Family Science; Dietetics; or Family and Consumer Sciences Education. | WILKIN COUNTY CROP IMPROVEMENT ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP To qualify for this $500.00 scholarship, the applicant must be a high school senior, or one that has not reached their 22nd birthday by January of the year following the award; a resident of WIlkin County; pursuing an Agricultural related field of study (which includes Food and Nutrition, Nursing, Human Resources and Accounting). | NORTH DAKOTA INTERIOR DESIGNER SCHOLARSHIP To be eligible, applicant must currently be in their third year in the NDSU Interior Design program as well as an active NDID member (membership dues paid). Two students will receive $500 toward their fourth year in the Interior Design program at NDSU. Awarded amounts will be given directly to the recipients prior to the beginning of the school year. | CASS COUNTY AREA RETIRED TEACHERS SCHOLARSHIP Three scholarships of $1000 will be awarded to sophomores or juniors majoring in education (a junior or senior in the school year 2009-2010) or be enrolled in a graduate program in education. Applicants must have graduated from a Cass County N.D. High School and have a B average or better. | EVELYN LENANDER EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP To qualify for a $250 to $2,000 scholarship, a student must have completed two full years of college credits with a minimum 3.0 GPA and have been accepted in a program leading to a degree in elementary education. Preference is given to students having permanent residence within a 25 mile radius of Buffalo Lake and then eligibility will be expanded to include other students from Central Minnesota. | NORTH DAKOTA CONGRESS OF PARENT AND TEACHERS SCHOLARSHIP Scholarships of $500 will be offered to students in the field of general education who have completed two or more years of college toward that education degree. The applicant must be a resident of North Dakota and enrolled full time for two semesters of the school year for which application is made. | NDEA FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP Scholarships of $500 will be awarded to an outstanding student who is preparing for a career in education. The applicant must be a full-time student in teacher education programs, have maintained at least a 3.0 GPA and maintain membership in the NEA Student Program. | NDEA MINORITY SCHOLARSHIP One scholarship of $500 will be awarded to encourage and assist minorities to enter the profession of teaching. The applicant must be a minority undergraduate student in good standing, enrolled in a North Dakota institution of higher education and enrolled in a teacher education program. | AFRS STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP AWARD One scholarship of $500 will be awarded by the Armed Forces Recreation Society, a branch of the National Recreation and Park Association. Applicants must be enrolled in an NRPA accredited recreation, parks or related field, have completed a mimimum of 30 semester hours, have a minimum 2.5 overall GPA and a minimum 3.0 GPA in their recreation and park courses, have completed a mimimum of six semester hours in their recreation and park field, have demonstrated leadership in employment or campus activities related to the profession, and have maintained a membership in a related professional organization. HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT AND DIETETICS |
| AMERICAN DIETETIC ASSOCIATION (ADA) Scholarships awarded by the ADAF are generally for ADA members enrolled in the junior or senior year of a baccalaureate or coordinated program in dietetics or the second year of study in a dietetic technician program, a dietetic internship program or a graduate program. The number of scholarships available and their dollar amounts vary from year to year. Graduate, undergraduate and intern scholarships available. Applications are available each year between mid-September and mid-January. The annual deadline for submitting applications is in mid-February. ASSOCIATION FOR FOOD AND DRUG OFFICIALS SCHOLARSHIPTwo scholarships of $1500 will be awarded to a sophomores preparing to enter their junior year, or juniors preparing to enter their senior year. Selection criteria: leadership capabilities, a minimum 3.0 GPA, studying for a career in research, regulatory work, quality control, or teaching in an area related to some aspect of foods, drugs or consumer product safety. | CLARK E. DEHAVEN SCHOLARSHIP TRUST Scholarships will be awarded to a sophomore, junior or senior majoring in a food service field and planning to have a career in the food service industry. Selection criteria: enrolled full time in a college or university that is a member of the National Association of College and University Food Services, a minimum 2.75 GPA and be in good standing. Applicant must be a U.S. or Canadian citizen, attending college in the U.S. or Canada during the scholarship award year. | F.M. HEART HEALTH SCHOLARSHIP The F.M. Heart Health Fund is a competitive scholarship between North Dakota State University, Concordia College and Minnesota State University Moorhead. Students who are currently in their junior or senior year are eligible. Areas for study could include, but are not limited to: nutrition, dietetics, exercise physiology, health, health education, physical education and fitness. | MORRISON MANAGEMENT SPECIALISTS SCHOLARSHIPS Scholarships are available to seniors in didactic programs who will attend an internship or juniors of a coordinated program. Morrison Management Specialists will pay internship tuition or the senior-year tuition for the CP students (up to $6,000), if selected. | NATIONAL RESTAURANT ASSOCIATION EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS Scholarship in the amount of $2,000 is available to students pursuing an undergraduate degree in restaurant/food service/hospitality program. Selection criteria: full-time student, minimum 2.75 GPA, and performed a minimum of 750 hours of restaurant/ food service-related work experience. | NORTH DAKOTA NUTRITION COUNCIL SCHOLARSHIP Two scholarships of $500 will be awarded to a sophomore, junior or non-graduating senior majoring in a nutrition related field (Dietetics, Community Nutrition, Family and Consumer Sciences Education). Student must be a member of the North Dakota Nutrition Council (NDNC), have a GPA greater than 3.0, and show commitment to the purpose of the North Dakota Nutrition Council. | EMILY FREEMAN GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP This scholarship will be awarded to a North Dakota resident with a Bachelor's Degree in an area of Apparel, Design, Facility, and Hospitality Management; Child Development and Family Science; Dietetics; or Family and Consumer Sciences Education who has been accepted in the North Dakota State University Graduate School to work towards a Master's Degree in one of the above fields.
