Three scholarships of $1000 will be awarded to outstanding students with financial need. One of the scholarships will be awarded to a current freshman to be received in their sophomore year, one to a sophomore to be received in their junior year, one to a junior to be received in their senior year. The students must be enrolled in an area of Apparel, Design, and Hospitality Management; Child Development and Family Science; Dietetics; or Family and Consumer Sciences Education. Recipient must be taking a minimum of 15 credits at time of award disbursement. |

DEAN CHARLOTTE BENNETT MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
One scholarship of $1000 will be awarded to an upperclassman to provide financial support. The student must be majoring in an area of Apparel, Design, and Hospitality Management; Child Development and Family Science; Dietetics; or Family and Consumer Sciences Education. Preference is also based on active involvement in the leadership of the student member section of the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences, and other campus and community organizations. Applicant must have and must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or greater. Recipient must be taking a minimum of 12 graded credits at time of award disbursement. |

One scholarship of $1200 will be awarded to a sophomore, junior, or senior student majoring in an area of Apparel, Design, and Hospitality Management; Child Development and Family Science; Education; or Health, Nutrition and Exercise Sciences. The recipient must exhibit financial need, be active in student organizations, and have a minimum CGPA of 3.0. Board members will interview the final applicants to determine the recipient. Recipient must be taking a minimum of 12 graded credits at time of award disbursement. |

Selection criteria: a minimum 3.0 GPA, have financial need and demonstrate leadership qualities. Recipient must be taking a minimum of 12 graded credits at time of award disbursement. |

AGNES M. HANSEN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Two scholarships of $675 will be awarded to students who will be a junior or senior in Apparel, Design, and Hospitality Management; Child Development and Family Science; Dietetics; or Family and Consumer Sciences Education. The students must have a minimum 2.5 GPA. Preference given to applicants who demonstrated both financial need and a history of community service and student leadership. Recipients must be taking a minimum of 12 graded credits at time of award disbursement. |

VIRGINIA L. HASSOUN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
One scholarship of $500 will be awarded to a woman enrolled in an area of: Apparel, Design, and Hospitality Management; Child Development and Family Science; Dietetics; or Family and Consumer Sciences Education. The primary intent of this scholarship is to help and encourage international women students from developing countries. The recipient must be a full time student who has a cumulative grade point average of 2.75 or greater and financial need. Preference will be given to an international student from a developing country. If such a student does not apply in a given year, the scholarship may be awarded to a North Dakota resident, meeting all the above criteria. |

One scholarship of $360 will be awarded to a student majoring in Apparel, Design, and Hospitality Management; Child Development and Family Science; Dietetics; Family and Consumer Sciences Education or Agricultural Education at North Dakota State University. Applicant must maintain high academic standards and exhibit the need for financial assistance. Applicant must be a full-time student with a minimum of 12 graded credits at the time of application and during the time of disbursement of the award. |

One scholarship of $500 will be awarded by the NDSU Student Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID). Applicant must be a member of the NDSU Student ASID Chapter (membership dues paid), receiving a major in Interior Design. Selection criteria is based on academic performance (minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00), active involvement in the NDSU Student Chapter of ASID, and financial need. The recipients must be third or fourth year students enrolled in the Interior Design program taking a minimum of 12 graded credits at the time of award disbursement. |

One scholarship of $100 will be awarded by the Fashion Apparel and Business Organization (FABO). The award is based on academic performance, student involvement and leadership in FABO. Recipient must be taking a minimum of 12 graded credits at time of award disbursement. |

Recipient must be taking a minimum of 12 graded credits, and enrolled in the College of Human Development and Education for at least two semesters at the time of application and disbursement of award. DONNA MAE EVANSON SHANKS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Two full-tuition scholarships will be awarded to students enrolled in the Department of Child Development and Family Science at North Dakota State University. The recipients must be seniors, taking a minimum of 12 graded credits and have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.25. The amount of each scholarship awarded shall be equal to the North Dakota resident undergraduate tuition for the fall and spring semester regardless of the recipients' hometown. At the time of disbursement, the recipient must be residing in the greater Fargo-Moorhead area. |

One scholarship of $680 will be awarded to a student fully admitted to the teacher education program in the School of Education. The funds will be disbursed in the term in which the student is student teaching. Recipient must be taking a minimum of 12 graded credits at time of award disbursement. |

HACH SCIENTIFIC FOUNDATION CHEMISTRY TEACHER SCHOLARSHIP
Two scholarships of $6,000 will be awarded to undergraduate students majoring in Chemistry who are committed to become high school chemistry teachers. The recipient must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and must sign a yearly agreement committing to becoming a chemistry teacher to receive the scholarship. Recipient must be a citizen of the United States/permanent resident. Financial need will be considered but shall not be the determining factor in the selection. Selection shall be made without regard to gender, color, race, creed or national origin. The scholarship shall be renewable if requirements are met but not to exceed $36,000. |

One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to recognize demonstrated leadership in North Dakota State University and/or community activities and to encourage students to begin their study in Secondary Education. Preference will be given to the following teaching specialities: History, Social Studies, Family and Consumer Sciences, and Physical Education. Candidate must be a junior or senior accepted into Teacher Education at NDSU, enrolled in the College of Human Development and Education and have a minimum 3.0 CGPA. Recipient must be taking a minimum of 12 graded credits at time of award disbursement. |

One scholarship of $770 will be awarded to a student majoring in Agricultural Education or Family and Consumer Sciences Education. Selection criteria: must be current or past participant in a 4-H or FFA program and have financial need. Recipient must be taking a minimum of 12 graded credits and enrolled in the Ag Education or Family and Consumer Sciences Education Program of the School of Education at time of award disbursement. |

One $800 scholarship shall be awarded to a student who is admitted into the School of Education in the College of Human Development and Education. This scholarship shall be given to students who are not recipients of other academically-based scholarships, and may not otherwise be able to attend NDSU due to a lack of financial support. Recipient must be taking a minimum of 12 graded credits at time of award disbursement. |

One scholarship of $1000 will be awarded to a junior, non-graduating senior, or graduate student majoring in Dietetics, Family and Consumer Sciences Education or Education. One scholarship of $620 will be given to a junior or senior student with junior or senior status who is taking a minimum of 12 graded credits, and admitted into the Teacher Education program at the time of award disbursement. Applicant must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.75 or greater, demonstrate financial need as defined by the Financial Aid Office, and show professional promise and determination for success. Applicant's high school total enrollment must have been less than 500 at time of graduation. Preference will be given to students majoring in Family and Consumer Sciences Education. If there is not a Family and Consumer Science Education candidate, any other teaching discipline will be considered that meets the above criteria. |

Two scholarships of $400 will be awarded to a sophomore or junior student (at time of disbursement) majoring in Exercise Science. This scholarship, set up by Dr. Donna Terbizan in memory of her parents, is in recognition of academic excellence in the field of exercise science. Selection criteria: scholarship, leadership and professionalism. Recipient must be taking a minimum of 12 graded credits at time of award disbursement. |

One scholarship of $535 will be awarded to a student majoring in Dietetics. The student must be a senior taking a minimum of 12 graded credits at the time of award disbursement and have an overall 3.0 GPA in professional courses as well as in basic science courses. |

ROGER AND NANCY GRESS FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP
One scholarship of $500 will be awarded to a student enrolled in the College of Human Development and Education. Preference will be given to students in the dual degree program of Elementary Education/Child Development and Family Science. Other majors eligible area: Child Development and Family Science or Dietetics. The scholarship shall be awarded for use during their sophonore or junior year. A minimum cumulative GPA will be 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Applicants must participate in an NDSU student organization and/or a community event or organization. Recipients must be taking a minimum of 12 graded credits at time of award disbursement. |

One scholarship of $650 will be awarded to a student enrolled in the College of Human Development and Education who has been accepted into the Athletic Training program - curriculum phase. If no applicant is available from the Athletic Training program; Physical Education - Teaching or HNES - Teaching will be considered. The recipient must maintain a 3.0 cumulative grade point average, and demonstrate financial need as reported through the Office of Student Financial Services and/or scholarship application. One scholarship of $750 will be awarded to a student in Physical Education or Sport and Recreation Studies. This award from E.E. Kaiser is in recognition of academic excellence and outstanding service to their profession. Applicant must have an overall GPA average of 2.5 or better, with a physical education GPA average of 3.0 or better. Selection is also based on participation in service projects, and membership in physical education association(s) and/or comparable activities. Two scholarships of $200 will be awarded to graduate students who are North Dakota residents preparing for a career in guidance and counseling. Selection is based upon evidence of commitment, academic accomplishment and need for assistance. At the time of award disbursement, recipients must be full-time graduate students taking: nine credits and no assistantship; or six credits with a ten hours/week assistantship; or four credits with a 20 hours/week assistantship or registered for Thesis, Research, or Practicum/Internship credits. |

One scholarship of $1000 will be awarded to a candidate for the doctorate program in Human Development: Applied Gerontology Option or a graduate student earning a Master of Science degree in Public Health or Nutrition Science. Must be a Registered Dietitian (RD) as recognized by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) of The American Dietetic Association (ADA). The applicant must be born in North Dakota, the USA, or Canada, respectively. For doctoral students, preference will be given to applicants working on their dissertation. Recipients are eligible to reapply. There is no limit to the number of times a person can receive the scholarship. |

BOARD OF VISITOR'S GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP
One scholarship of $2000 is awarded to give support to a graduate student in the College of Human Development and Education. The funds are intended to assist a student so they may fully participate in their graduate studies. The recipient is chosen through an interview process related to their research. |

CHRISTINE FINLAYSON MEMORIAL GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP
One scholarship of $675 will be awarded to a current or former Family and Consumer Science teacher who intends to continue education at NDSU which may lead to a Master's Degree in Family and Consumer Sciences Education. Preference given to applicants who: have taught successfully for at least one year; have an undergraduate degree with a major in Family and Consumer Sciences Education; and meet admission requirements to the graduate school. If no Master's Degree candidate quailifies, the scholarship may be awarded to a post-baccalaureate student in Family and Consumer Sciences Education. |
