- College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences
Student Ambassador Enhancement Scholarship
Awarded to a junior or a senior properly enrolled in the College of
Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences with a minimum G.P.A. of 3.0.
Must have a written letter of recommendation from a current faculty
or staff member of the College and write a short, 250 words or less,
essay on how you would enhance the College. May not be a current member
of the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences Student Ambassador
group.
- Byron L. Berntson Class of 1961 Memorial Scholarship
Awarded to students with high academic achievement majoring in English,
a foreign language, history, political science, communication, or
any of the fine arts who have contributed to the NDSU community through
membership in a service fraternity or society, student government,
a musical or dramatic arts group, or on the staff of a student publication.
Must be properly enrolled at NDSU in the College of AHSS at time of
application (Spring Semester) and during the time of actual disbursement
of funds (Fall Semester). Minimum GPA of 3.60 over the preceding academic
year at NDSU.
- Glenn Hill Memorial Scholarship
Awarded to sophomore or junior students majoring in the College of
Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences with high academic achievement
and financial need. Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50. Must be properly
enrolled at NDSU during time of application (Spring Semester) and
during the time of actual disbursement of funds (Fall Semester). Must
have demonstrated financial need as defined by the Office of Financial
Aid.
- Delsie Holmquist Memorial Scholarship
Scholarships awarded to students majoring in the College of Arts,
Humanities and Social Sciences with high academic achievement (minimum
cumulative GPA of 3.6) . Must be properly enrolled as a Freshman,
Sophomore, or Junior student at the time of application (Spring Semester).
Disbursement of award made in the Fall Semester. At least two awards
to be given to students enrolled in the Scholars Program.
- Ann and Tom Riley Scholarship
The Riley scholarship goes to a student majoring in one of the disciplines
in the college who exhibits excellence in scholarship and promise
in the discipline of his or her choice.
- John T. Schneider Peace Memorial Scholarship
Scholarship awarded to students majoring in the College of Arts, Humanities
and Social Sciences. Must have obtained junior or senior class standing
with accumulated GPA of 3.0 or higher at the time of the award distribution.
Must be properly enrolled at NDSU during time of application (Spring
Semester) and during time of actual disbursement of funds (Fall Semester).
Preference will be given to candidates who meet one or more of the
following: 1) a career interest of serving in the U.S. Peace Corps
after graduation; 2) a contributor to or staff of the Spectrum and/or
a student senator; 3) an employed part-time worker with a full-time
academic schedule; 4) a current or past member of the NDSU Student
Organization Young Democrats.
