  • Albert G. and Celeste Brauer Scholarship in History
    Based on overall GPA, interest in and potential leadership among history students, and potential as a history major.

  • History and Religion Faculty Scholarship
    Awarded annually to recognize and celebrate one outstanding history major. Funded by former and present members of the faculty.

  • Michael J. Lyons Writing Award
    Award given to a student whose written work exemplifies Michael J. Lyons' dedication to vivid and clear prose. Lyons was chair of the History Department from 1972 to 1989. The award was established by his friends and colleagues in 1993 to honor him for his outstanding contributions to the study of history and for his devotion to the written word.

  • Dakota Chapter DAR Rhoda Freer Newman Memorial Scholarship
    A scholarship awarded by the Dakota Chapter DAR on the basis of scholarship to a North Dakota resident who is a junior or senior studying in the areas of American history, occupational therapy, and/or nursing. History Department only awards in odd years.

  • The Corwin Carlyle Roach Memorial Endowment
    Scholarships made available in honor of Professor Corwin Roach, who was director of NDSU's School of Religion and professor of philosophy and history from 1959 to 1978. Scholarships are based on overall grade point average, enthusiasm for studying history, and leadership among other history students.

  • The Corwin Carlyle Roach Outstanding Department Citizenship Award
    Awarded to a student whose leadership and service promotes a sense of community among history majors.

  • The Corwin Carlyle Roach Outstanding Public History Award
    Awarded to a student who demonstrates extraordinary commitment to the Public History Program. Scholarships are based on grade point average in public history courses, enthusiasm for studying public history, and leadership among other public history students.
