International Students Association

"Bringing the World together."

Dear Friends,

Hello, my name is Fatah Elhassani. International Students Association to me is a group of passionate students here at NDSU who have different backgrounds and are more than happy to get to know each other. We form a special community, sharing different cultures, yet we have one thing in common: we all end up getting along very well in a relatively short period of time.  The International Student Association (ISA) is here to act as a connection to make that transition easier and to help foreign and American students alike make the very best of the time they spend at NDSU.
It is such a pleasure for me to congratulate you on your acceptance to NDSU. You must be a little anxious to the idea of leaving your hometown and you loved ones. Maybe you could be questioning whether you are ready or not for this adventure. First, let me assure you that you have made the right decision by choosing NDSU. Whether you are coming for a bachelor program for four years, master’s degree or as a transfer student for a few semesters, NDSU offers you the opportunity to a hands-on education in the leading fields of growth of today. Its diplomas are recognized world-wide and you will have no trouble in finding the right career after finishing your studies at NDSU.
You made the first step coming to NDSU, and the Office of International Programs as well as the faculty of NDSU will help you in the steps to come in ways you couldn’t imagine. I assure you, you will not feel that you are on your own once you step foot in Fargo. The ISA will be there for you to build relationships, find friends from similar background or with your same ambitions, and it will help you gain from the experience of “veteran” international students.

I believe the ISA has built a reputation of being one of the favorite organizations. Miho and I will be working together to increase foreign and American students pride in being part of this group. ISA will be the bridge between International students and leadership opportunities on campus. We will provide you with the help needed to sustain your dreams and achieve your goals.

ISA is a proactive association. We organize many events throughout the year. The International Night is one of the finest shows on campus (winner of many awards) and is organized yearly exclusively and entirely by international students. The international-Expo attracts a large audience to watch students represent their countries with traditional outfits and beautiful accessories. We also help organize sport events varying from cricket, to basketball to soccer games which gather a passionate group to practice their favorite sport. In addition to trips to beautiful sites such as the yellow stones, one of Minnesota’s 10,000 lakes, or even skiing trips where we sometimes assist student on skiing for the first time of their lives.

Last but not least we will be keeping things SIMPLE and EASY so that we could enjoy our leisure times with our friends more often at ISA.
Feel free to contact me, it would be a privilege for me to meet you and get to know you. Also, you are invited to come to ISA meeting on Fridays at 4:00pm. I would be thrilled to introduce you to our organization, and we could share some pizza slices afterwards.
