This turbine was purchased to meet our electrical needs in an off-grid installation. In addition to this turbine, we have 480 watts of Kyocera PV, which has performed wonderfully during the many, many days of down-time we have encountered. The turbine was originally purchased as the 3-bladed Whisper H4500. The manufacturer currently has changed the configuration to operate as a 2 bladed machine.
This turbine is connected to a stacked pair of Trace SW 4024 inverters and attached to 12 L-16 batteries connected in series/parallel for 24 Volts.
On 07/03/99, I witnessed a blade deflection of approximately 10 inches in winds of about 15-20 mph.
