FOREST RESOURCE MANAGEMENT (F R M)"The mission of the Forest Resource Management Coordination Area is to maintain and improve North Dakota's natural resources by providing technical and financial assistance to private landowners, encouraging them to practice good stewardship and quality land management in meeting their specific goals and objectives."

Forest Resource ManagementForest Resource Management works with land owners in the following areas: Landowner Technical Assistance:Providing landowners with technical forestry assistance to help them in managing their natural and planted rural woodland resources. Financial Assistance:Providing landowners with financial assistance to install tree planting projects and implement forest management activities. Forest Stewardship Tax Law:A tax incentive program that reduces woodland property taxes to a flat rate in selected counties. Red River Basin Riparian Project:Providing technical and financial assistance to help landowners manage their riparian areas in the Red River Basin. Best Management Practices Manual:The "North Dakota Forestry Best Management Practices" publication. (1.44 MB)Current Events: Providing training and educational out reach opportunities to help natural resource professionals, contractors and landowners better manage the rural forest resources of North Dakota.
