Admission to LPN-BSN Nursing Program

To enter the LPN-BSN program, students must attain satisfactory decision scores on advanced placement examinations in adult health, mental health, and maternal/child health. The course sequence for the nursing major begins the spring semester.

To apply to the professional program, an application must be submitted by October 15 to the Department of Nursing, Sudro Hall 136. A minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 in selected college course work is required for evaluation for admission.

Students applying to the nursing major must:

  • complete an associate degree in nursing
  • have a current unencumbered practical (vocational) nurse license (LPN)
  • attain satisfactory decision scores on the advanced placement examinations
  • be admitted to North Dakota State University
  • have official transcripts for all colleges attended on file
  • complete the application to the major
  • have two written references
  • have documentation of health status
  • have current CPR certification at health provider level

Documentation of each of the above requirements must be on file in the Department of Nursing by October 15. A criminal background check will be conducted after admission.
