Admission Requirements
Freshman ADMISSION
To be considered for freshman admission for the 2007-2008 academic year, students must submit the following:
1. Completed Application for Admission and $35 nonrefundable Application fee. The application is available online at https://apply.ndsu.edu/. Or you may obtain an application at your high school career or guidance office or the NDSU Office of Admission.
2. Official high school transcript.
3. Scores from the ACT or SAT (NDSU code number is 3202 for ACT and 6474 for SAT).
Applications are evaluated on an individual basis. Admission decisions are based on your total high school record. The university uses selective criteria in order to assure adequate preparation which will enable students to be successful in their academic pursuits.
In compliance with the North Dakota University System requirements for admission, students should present the following high school College Preparatory Requirements:
- 4 units of English
- 3 units of mathematics (at the level of algebra I and above)
- 3 units of laboratory science
- 3 units of social science
Completion of the core courses does not guarantee admission to NDSU.
It is recommended applicants have a cumulative high school grade point average of 2.5 (4.0 scale) with strong consideration given to grades earned in college preparatory courses. An ACT composite score of 21 or higher or SAT score of 970 or higher is recommended. Students who do not meet these guidelines will be considered if other supporting factors show potential for success.
NDSU does not have an application deadline. However, it is recommended that incoming freshmen apply during late fall or winter prior to enrolling to ensure other applications and paperwork can be completed in a timely manner. You are strongly encouraged to submit all required materials prior to August 15 (for fall admission) or December 15 (for spring semester) to ensure time for thorough review of your application.
