José A. M. Fernandes I am a professor in the Instuto de Ciêcias Biológicas at the Universidade Federal do Pará. My research is focused on the Pentatomidae, especially the taxonomy and phylogeny of the Edessinae and Discocephalinae. I am also conducting projects in the Amazonian region concerning the biodiversity of Heteroptera (from the ground to the canopy, using several methods), and conservation of fragmented areas using bugs as indicators.

Pieter van Doesburg).
2) Revision of the subgenus Ascra of Edessa (with Pieter van Doesburg and Harry Brailovsky).
3) Description of a new genus in the Edessinae.
4) Revision of the genus Psorus.
5) Revision of the genus Callostethus.
6) Biology of Edessa stollida (Linnaeus, 1758).
