Marie-Claude Larivière New Zealand Arthropod Collection, Aukland, New Zealand      I was born and educated in Québec, graduating with a PhD in pentatomoid systematics (revision of Brochymena) from McGill University in 1990. For the following two years I did postdoctoral research (faunistics of Nabidae) at Agriculture Canada, Ottawa. In 1992, I moved to New Zealand to work as a full-time Hemiptera curator and biosystematist for the New Zealand Arthropod Collection (NZAC) at Landcare Research, Auckland. From 1994 to 1997 I led the Biosystematics of New Zealand Land Invertebrates programme, and from 1999 to 2004, the Koiora-BioAssist™ project (Biodiversity Assessment using Information Technology and Taxonomy). I have authored several publications on the taxonomy, distribution and natural history of Heteroptera and Auchenorrhyncha, including Fauna of New Zealand monographs. A lot of my earlier work was on pentatomoids and although I am not particularly focused on this group anymore my research projects on New Zealand Hemiptera often cover the Pentatomoidea. In addition to taxonomic research I have a keen interest in biodiversity informatics, especially digital taxonomy, computer imaging, interactive identification, and web-publishing.
