9:30 – Darima Budaeva (Concordia College - Moorhead, Minnesota) “Russian values in the global world”
It is a well-known fact that Russia is a huge country with a rich history, magnificent culture, ethnical and natural diversity, great scientific potential and also a birthplace of many famous names of past and present. As each nation, the Russians have fundamental values they live by which are of great interest. In this paper I intend to reveal these fundamental values because in the world where globalization has become a buzzword understanding cultures is the key issue. I’d like to give a good overview of my homeland and its values to people living in the USA, because for foreigners Russia has always been a mystery. I also consider it to be my moral responsibility as I’m a Fulbright grantee, a cultural ambassador of Russia, whose primary aim is to favor the merging of two majestic countries ( Russia-the USA), to consolidate this unity by means of sharing our cultures and values.
