NDSU faculty honored with awards, grants

Outstanding NDSU faculty members were honored May 8 during the annual Celebration of Faculty Excellence at the McGovern Alumni Center. The NDSU Development Foundation and the Office of the Provost sponsored the event.

• Robert Littlefield, professor of communication, received the Waldron Award for Excellence in Research

• David Herda, assistant professor of accounting, was recognized with the Odney Award for Excellence in Teaching

• William Wilson, University Distinguished Professor of agricultural economics, received the Peltier Award for Innovation in Teaching

• Mukund Sibi, University Distinguished Professor of chemistry and biochemistry, was the recipient of the Chamber of Commerce Distinguished Faculty Service Award

• Brenda Deckard, director of Plant Sciences Student Services, received the Service-Learning Award 

• Joan Krush, academic adviser and lecturer of computer science, was recognized with the Outstanding Professional Adviser Award

• Harlene Hatterman-Valenti, professor of plant sciences, received the Outstanding Faculty Advising Award

In addition, several NDSU Development Foundation grants and awards were announced.
