NDSU baseball head coach Tod Brown announced David Pearson has been promoted to associate head coach of the Bison baseball team.

The announcement was made June 25.

"David's dedication and hard work to NDSU baseball has been an instrumental part to the success of the program," Brown said. "He is extremely deserving of this promotion to associate head coach, and I am excited to continue working with him here at NDSU."

Pearson, in his seventh season at NDSU, assists in all phases of the program and serves as the team's hitting coach and recruiting coordinator. At NDSU, he has helped recruit 16 All-Summit League performers, including a school record-tying seven all-league honorees this past season as the Bison claimed their first Summit League tournament title and advanced to the NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament for the first time since 1956.

Pearson graduated from Mayville State University in 2003 with a bachelor's degree in business education.

NDSU is recognized as one of the nation's top 108 public and private universities by the Carnegie Commission on Higher Education.
