The NDSU Extension Service is scheduled to hold a soil health field day Aug. 21 at the Bagg Bonanza Farm near Mooreton, North Dakota.

"We will focus on tools that can be used to improve soil health and manage salinity using a whole-system approach," said Abbey Wick, NDSU Extension Service soil health assistant professor. "We also will show how individual species and mixes of cover crops look below-ground in a soil pit.”

The cost of the field day is $20 if preregistering or $30 the day of the field day. To register, go to www.ndsu.edu/soilhealth/. For more information, contact Niki Lynnes at 701-231-8881 or niki.lynnes@ndsu.edu.

Other sponsors of the field day are the North Dakota Corn Council, North Dakota Soybean Council and North Dakota Wheat Commission.

NDSU is recognized as one of the nation's top 108 public and private universities by the Carnegie Commission on Higher Education.
